My 2009 CMJ

I'm going through post CMJ withdraw! Even after being completely incompetent during work hours, still going to the gym, and the walking even though my body ached from the gym, I wish CMJ was more than a week.

First of all, I didn't think I was going to see as many shows as I did this year, but having a friend in an up and coming band Finding Fiction with a lot of time on his hands, interning for a music site "Greenshoelace" and receiving free tickets to sold out CMJ shows DOES help.

Secondly, I saw three bands that would make me get on the rooftop of my BK abode and shout "Eh! Listen to x, y, and z!" and then quietly slink down before I was caught by my landlord Kurian, who, surprisingly, is ALWAYS around.

1. Local Natives (L.A)
2. Golden Silvers (London Town)
3. Pink Noise (Brooklyn based!)

My number one fsvorite was Local Natives and since I saw them twice, they doubly made an impression on me.

The Greenshoelace sponsored CMJ show, at Santos Party House, was where I first heard them, then secondly at the Deli Magazine ALL DAY Free CMJ showcase at The Delancey on Saturday, the last day of CMJ. By Saturday I was itching to see them again. A favorite of mine they played at both sets was the song "Airplanes." The are definitely not a new band as they have a decent following in Europe and their hometown of L.A. However if you are in the mood for four males to wrap harmonious vocals around your head, then give Local Natives a listen.

Golden Silvers played at the Greenshoelace CMJ showcase at Bowery Electric, and was a pleasant surprise. A video for a song that I don't know the name of (I'd appreciate some help here), was my favorite of their set. However their last song was a perfectly done A Capella song. I wish I could have gotten that on video. I hope to hear more of them soon, and that they come back to NYC. In 2008 Golden Silvers won the Glastonbury New Talent competition, putting the in the limelight. So listen up!

Lastly I trekked past my normal stop of Graham Ave on the L, took the shuttle to the Morgan stop and made it to Shea Stadium to catch the ridiculous 18 band showcase. There I saw Desert Stars who needed to have someone work on their mics, as I could barely hear the one chick on the cello! A cello amongst drums, keys, and a guitar is going to be drowned out regardless, but a well positioned mic, with the volume up, would have helped.

Anyway, on to the main event (for me at least) was Pink Noise. As Desert Stars droned on, PN, came in a tad bit late, with little time to set up. I knew I would like them tho as the female lead singer came in waearing silver sparkly Converse. Hot.

Unfortunately with the noise factor and fuzziness of the mics, I couldn't catch song titles, but I loved each and every one. They played Union Pool tonight... too bad I missed it!

So that was my CMJ. How was yours?

I haven't blogged in forever, and who cares it's my blog and I can do with it what I please.

Passion Pit actually got me in the mood to blog again. Thank you men of Cambridge, MA for producing the album of my summer... so far.

Currently "The Reeling" and "Little Secrets" are on repeat. I can't do much but bop my head as I swelter in the heat at work, wishing I was sweltering on a hot rooftop instead. The cool loft space I work in isn't so cool with one air conditioner. However I can almost handle it, when the beat drops and the handclaps start up in "Sleepyhead."

Passion Pit is making the start of my summer kick it. Ass that is.

So.... Thanksgiving was alright. Lot's of turkey, stuffing, apple pie, cranberry sauce in the shape of a can with alllll the ridges, some steamed veggies and some really awkward conversation.

It sucks when you're an only child. When you're younger it doesn't matter but when you're older ... holy hail it sucks. I have nothing to talk about to them (parents) and no where to go when it gets boring.

No car. No license. No friends. I have one friend who flipped on me cause I didn't call her to chill, however, I seriously DIDN'T think to hang out with anyone. I just thought about how boring it is here... in the LBC.

It took a lot of booing from the crowd, but after a 3 and a half hour wait the crowd at T5, (Terminal 5) finally got what they wanted. Through the first 3 songs or so there would be an initial "HURRAAAY!" and then almost dead silence. If the bass wasn't bumping ("treble"y so) the place would have been cricket heaven.

However, when M.I.A asked the crowd to join her on stage, everyone went NUTS. It was a mediocre rush to the stage, but after some kids realized she wasn't kidding it was a MADHOUSE. Security couldn't do much but stare and help 5 foot girls up the stage and from falling and getting too close to the edge.

It looked like an '87 hip hop video. Girls in pink tights, off the shoulder grey sweatshirts and side ponytails. Everyone from the ghettofied hip-hop diva blinged out in gaudy gold jewelery to the plaid t-shirt wearing skinny punk guy were on stage and rocking out. M.I.A was the Pied Piper of Terminal 5, the crowd followed her ever dip, shake and shimmy.

Even though she was late she rocked it. However I'm not sure what to think of the T5 venue. Let's see how Justice prevails. ;)

It may be early to talk about what I'm doing in two weeks, but I just can't wait. I thought August was the best month of this year, after the CSS and Daft Punk show, but I dunno, October is giving August a run for it's money.

With Terminal 5 being new I'm excited to see the venue. I always hate looking at those seating charts venues have showing you an aerial view of the inside. Never seems like what I expected. Anyyywho. There's a pretty tight article on M.I.A. in Fact Magazine, a UK mag I found while perusing the internet (it's pretty awesome, btw) which talks about her new album Kala and where she's come from since Arular. This shit will be hot! Pictures & Video ... all that goodness to come later. ;)

Arcade Fire is playing on my camera

So last night I was given the lucky option to attend a free LCD Soundsystem/Arcade Fire show. This being my first time to Randall's Island and I wasn't too impressed. As I got in line to the Stairway to port-a-potty heaven I looked out along the field and saw just how cruddy it was. No matter, S.Wan aka Swan got me free tickets to my first LCD SS and AF show, so I couldn't complain. Little did I know this would be Arcade Fire's last concert in NYC for two years!

The video I got during the show doesn't really compare to this video below that I captured right after the show, when Arcade Fire decided to have a surprise encore right next to the stage. They covered the Violent Femmes' "Kiss Off." Lucky for me the BrooklynVegan posted the vid and gave me credit. Later on I found out the video is posted on Stereogum. As of right now, it's the 7th most commented article on Stereogum. Yup. All I can say is I'm pumped. The days of me moonlighting as a video reporter have begun. ha.

Amen for my camera. I love that thing.

Early this morning... say around 2am, I was wide awake after sleeping myself away (very very long weekend, well, more like a very long Friday/Saturday) all Saturday afternoon.

I was uber bored and couldn't seem to find anything to keep my attention, until my savior came on... Full Frontal Fashion. Only a year ago I was jobless and watched FFF to save my life, now, I'm with job and still watching FFF to save my life. Things have improved 50%.

The Luca Luca show came on. I was deadened by the blaze colors for spring, I mean, isn't spring supposed to make you feel like sashaying among a bright blue sky on puffy white clouds, skipping through blooming fields full of green, yellow, purple and pink flowers, while singing "la la la la la la la" and then have a unicorn trot by as you jump on, grab its multicolored mane and gallop your way through a some dreamlike sequence? No? Obviously Luca Luca didn't didn't either either.

On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised that a dull color palate had quite the musical bang. Enter Justice, Frances' younger Daft Punk with a lil edge. Even while laying precariously close to the edge on my couch and with a pretty rough headache I was given not one, but a double dose of Justice. Bam! Bam!

Phantom Pt. 2 AND New Jack were played, with interludes of Prince. :) It was nice.

Ohh and Zac Posen... was ON POINT. Although, the collection started off slow check out the collection. ;) Some pics below:

Travel season is upon us and the best way to move around, you lazy Manhattanites, is to get your behind to a Brooklyn Industries and pick up your flyer for the Memorial Day Motherfucker. There really isn't another way to celebrate the kickoff to summer, unless you're from Jersey and HAAAAAVE to go down the shore. Then go... we don't want you at Motherfucker anyway. Best thing about celebrating in the city is the NON use of gas. Hurray! Who cares is gas if 3.11? You travel by bus, train or the two foot express.

25 bucks with the flyer gets you in to party with some very interesting looking people and if you get there early enough from 10-11pm its open bar! Now if that doesn't entice you, nothing will. After a ho hum diddly day, I've got nothing but Tex Mex chilli nachos and tacos in my head from the el cheapo New Taco Express (owned by Asians... I suspect Chinese, but I may be wong). Then the thoughts of hummus and fresh pita bread pop into my head and I realize I'm starving.

So I'm literally racing up my steps, get the mail and wait impatiently for the elevator to bring me up just three stories when I notice that Anytime, my favorite late night spot in Williamsburg is sending out spiffy looking flyers listing the menu, prices and {sniff, sniff} location and hours.

Ughhhhh.. Will everyone now be at my favorite late night spot where I meet cute gay hipsters and very hot Asian women (I'm totally straight, I just like to look for my very horny Puerto Rican friend who's jonesing)?

Snap, Crackle, & Pop!

I can't take it! The crinkly blue wrapper with those cute elfin fellows (Snap, Crackle and Pop) has gotten a hold of me. The sweet, sugary marshmallowy smell clogs my nostrils and I love it. I do. Nothing is better than chewing a chew bar and receiving a large sugar high. I don't know where my love for the sweet confectiony goodness came from. I never cared for them when I grew up. Particularly because sugar was banned from my house. The only time I got close to sugar was Raisin Bran or Honeycombs.

While working at Rodale... I've been pinching pennies, and lunch is on them! Lucky for me the serve up the healthier persuasion, yet for some reason, Fig Newtons and Rice Krispies are on the 'good for you' list. After my obligatory 8 oz V-8 and yucky oatmeal (on the HOUSE!) I had a rice krispie treat for lunch.

So I'm back to writing. I had a momentary lapse in, well NOT writing because I had become blinded by a boy. Well now that I have no longer any interest in that thing called Love I am back to focusing my time on more important things... Me and my never ending search for the perfect job.

I must tell you this search has had its high and lows. There is nothing I want more than to stop the search, yet I kind of enjoy my "freelancing" at different publishers. I get an alright paycheck, use of the company coffee machines (Hazelnut and French Vanilla fan) and at Rodale I get yummy oatmeal and rice krispie treats... woot.

Bleh. The worst part... interviewing for internships, that I know will get me out of this hell hole of temping. Oh, I mean freelancing.

Who else loves online music communities!?? LastFM should be apart of your online repertoire. SIGN UP! Above is a screen shot of my Dashboard... basically giving me an overview of the music I am listening to, music I like, music that is recommended to me and music that my online friends and neighbors are listening to. Neighbors are people who happen to have a high musical compatibility to you. So then you can gossip about when your fav band goes on tour, or if there is a secret album release party.

I wasn't too enthusiastic when I decided to join on Last FM, but it was during the sadness of my unemployment and in mid-August I was bored out of my mind online and needed a new site to get me pumped. Last FM is a great place to find new music. I can tell you that I've found 3 of my newest favorite bands on there, CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy), Phoenix, and Tahiti 80. Last FM is a music lover's dream because it connects you to other people in the world who like or obsess to the same music as you. Not only can you listen to the same music as you always have, but you can also find more music that is out there, that you'd never heard of ... EVER.

All in all a kick ass site. My top pick of the week.

chk chk chk Album Release Party

The chk chk chk (!!!) concert was out of this world. I wish my camera's battery would have lasted for me to take just ONE picture.

I resisted going to this concert. My currently unemployed friend who reads nothing but music blogs (YOU BrooklynVegan) quickly went to get the tickets for an all you can drink Jack & Coke party with the band !!! playing.

The band was playing at an undisclosed location and we didn't find out about until the day before. It's was at a place called Shangri La Studios but it was about 7 blocks away from Nassau Ave stop. Once you get there, you show your ID to some bouncer dude who tells you down the alley and make a left. The slushy snowy alley way led to a stairwell with votive candles that led to a huge fire escape and a door. Creepy much? Yes indeed.

Once inside, the band was warming up, the line for free Jack & Coke was long, and there were pockets of people smoking cigs here and there. LOFT PARTY!!!!

After two of three jacks and once !!! started it was insane. Never heard their music before then, and I wish I had... cause after hearing them live could they really sound as well as they did on a CD? Hopefully...

Overall great night... Met some awesome people, danced my lil ass off and got a good buzz... although my friend became Mr. Blackout and the night ended a lil early for us. That's what happens when you drink 10 to 15 Jack & Cokes in an hour and a half.

This past Saturday yours truly went to the MTV Discover & Download Lily Allen concert at Webster Hall in NYC. It was great, I was so close to her, I believe I even locked eyes with her once or twice. Oh JOY! So much Lily news to report.

Dear Lily is in a LOOOOVE triangle. Not really. Supposedly Kate Moss is banning on again/off again boyfriend Pete Doherty from attending the Brit Awards. Lily and Pete became friends last summer when they met at the Get Loaded In The Park festival. Kate supposedly flipped out over some gift Lily gave Pete and now, the most obssessed over model is jealous of a 21 yr old pop star... a big fat HA HA to you Kate!

Funny that Lily mentions Kate Moss in her song "Everything's Just Wonderful." The line being:

"...All the magazines they talk about weight loss,

Obviously this is not a kudos to Moss.

Lucky for me I got to jump ship early at work today! So happily heading out 10 minutes before 5, I decide, what the hell, I'm gonna walk down to Bryant Park. It's only 8 blocks down. Those bright white tents made me shiver. The excitement, the clothes, and the PEOPLE, who would be sitting in those little white chairs. I could barely contain myself. So I parked myself on the top step on the side of the main entrance and just hope to see someone that I might know. Alot of "PR girls" are walking around headsets on, looking thier best in their hip clothing, and A LOT of cameramen doing their best to look... nonchalant. After 5 minutes I decide, I'm gonna get home, I've got a special night to prepare for.... and lo and behold.... Ms. Vivica A. Fox. A lot skinnier in person, bigger head than I expected, but just as beautiful, maybe even more. That celeb sighting have given me enough oomph to get up tomorrow morning, go to the gym, and park my ass on that same step again, this time armed with my camera. If I get a sighting I promise to post them. You know how I do!

Sooooo... I love RS. I do. I've been down with this gal since 2004's Soviet Kitsch when I was up late one night in my State College apt watching old reruns of Degrassi and they played her video "Us." From then, I was hooked and needed to look everywhere for any song that I could possibly get my hands on. Terrible to say, but I searched high and low on Limewire for her previous CD's and with my luck, I downloaded them all. Yay!

I went out and bought Soviet Kitsch and faithfully bought Begin to Hope the day it came out. Although it took me a good 2 months before I could really get into the latter because I felt it wasn't as quirky or exciting as Soviet Kitsch. No matter though. I was truly happy when people other than Spektor Heads started giving her the recognition she deserved. Although I do believe Grey's Anatomy took it a bit far, by playing "Fidelty" on almost every single episode.

Though when an episode of Weeds played "Ghost of Corporate Future" during the end credits I truly rejoiced!

Ok, enough of my Regina raving. Enjoy one of these great RS songs. Don't be surprised when you are hooked as well.

I live along the East River. I'm a 30 second walk from Avenue C even though I always tell everyone 20th & 1st. It's nice to walk along the river, cry along the river as I did one day for 45 minutes (because after a stressful summer of interviews, I didn't see my life going anywhere) and see the sun rise and watch as Greenpoint shines under the its warm glow. This is all well and good.... in the Summer.

I wish I didn't live along the East River right now. I had me a lil babysitting gig on the UWS (Upper Best Side, as I like to say, even though I think the LES is waaaaaaaaaay better, New Yorkers die for the CPW addy) and yeah it was cold, but maybe all that money in pocket fueled my walk 4 blocks and an avenue to 86th. After my unneeded 25 minute wait for the L at 12am; I found myself attacked by the wind. For 6 blocks and 2 avenues over from 14th and 1st I thought my face was being rudely chipped off with an ice pick. My eyes watered so much I couldn't see. My fingers, although in my cute beige New York Co. gloves, were about to snap off and my ears? Oh my ears. They could have been weapons depending on how you broke them off.

Earth I love you and I'm glad to be on the only planet that has life (possibly) but really... the wind? on top of the cold? Is that necessary?

So, I didn't realize who the HELL I was emailing today, when I was just asking Faran@Fashionista.com to add me to the It List of her new blog "Fashionista." Um, hello, I just moved to the city, this whole underground Blogger Nation thing is unbelievable new and LARGE to me. So I read an article about her and her new blog, in The Huffington Post and I realized, she's no ordinary bloggerette.

So like any web savvy person of the 21st century, I googled her. Faran Krentcil. I thought she was just a blogger who had some ins with Gawker, but no. She's huge. This one has written for New York Magazine. She's huge in the NY blogger/blogger world, and Fashionista.com is NOT her first little venture. Not only did I email her, but we had a total of 10 emails back and forth. 4 of them hers. I have definitely just soiled myself. Why you ask? Because I gave up a possible interning position with her, for my riveting current job.

After my stint at the gym (yeah I said GYM bitches) I decided to cool down and walk to Union Square and take the train home from there. That is when I saw the saddest site of my life.

Aldo's Liquidation shoe store in Union Square was having a Lease Sale... meaning GOODBYE!!!

I have a large obessession for Aldo's ever since I was 10 and was in Montreal with my parents and saw a pair of shoes in the window that I just had to have. I loved the European sizes because it was different, and I got to come home with things no one else had.

I mean it's not like can't get Aldo shoes anymore, but I can't get them for 10, 15 or even 20 bucks. Boo!

Soo... I'm thinking Zappo's? Online shopping is rad. Gotta go, Valley Girls is on VH1... Fer sure, totally awesome!!!!

It's Hump Day Bitches

Be proud y'all. I joined the gym and I didn't let them scam me. No I didn't. So I went in wanting to join for the advertised 19 dollars a month. They tried to roll me over with $150.00 sign up fees and all this and that, and I held firm at the $19 deal. Well what do you know. They get someone over to set me up and blimmey! They don't have the deal anymore. Now I'm all geeked and pumped to join the gym and get my booty on the elliptical and they literally burst my bubble. The manager did a bit of prodding (still, I hold firm) I said, no thanks to his membership rates and complained about just moving to the city and having a tiny flow of cashoola. Pshaw! I moved to the city 8 months ago (yet, my flow of money is tiny, teeeeeny tiny).

I finally got up to leave and he said, wait for it..... "How about 20.00 bucks to sign up, since that's all you have (he just HAD to slide that in there) and 43 bucks a month with the third year free?"

Now if you are savvy on the gym deals within the city, I believe mine is pretty rad. I have tri-state coverage and can go to any gym in the city. I believe that I have a great deal, especially knowing that some friends are paying 100 bucks just to run. Eesh.

I need a gym. I've lived in this city for 8 months and I still haven't joined one. First I said,"Bah, I can work out in my living room." That never happened. Then I said, "I live right next to the river, (East River) I'll run along the path." That also never happened. Well it happened once and it was after spending the night before wide awake cleaning and unable to fall asleep. So I put on my PSU hoodie and headed out at 6:45am to watch the sun rise and do a sort of run/walk thing. Surprisingly I ran quite far. from 20th all the way to the Williamsburg bridge (Manhattan side) and then did two laps around this ginormous soccer field directly underneath it. It was nice. I felt like a runner for a hot second. I did the runner's nod when I passed by other runner/walkers. It's like a code or a special club. Although I did not belong. Lucky for me it was morning and I didn't have to worry about anyone watching my sad little 60 second run spurts followed by 3 minutes walks. Terrible. My high school soccer coach would probably look at me with disgust, yet it would be a mutual exchange cause this woman had varicose veins that looked like they were about to BURST a bloody mess. Blech.

I DIGRESS!

So with my pitiful salary I need to find a gym. I've researched the NY Sports Club, NY Health & Racquet Club, Equinox, and finally Bally's. I have heard the horror stories. "Bally's cheats you out of money, Bally's won't let you cancel your membership, Bally's steals your credit card info and still charges you after you've gone." But those commercials are killing me! (as you will see below)

Now in this commercial everyone's smiling, happy, jumping on the beach. Looking at the camera like, "oh this lil 6pack? Just took me a month, pshaw, wasn't hard at all." I know it will be a tough process, seeing that I havent been gym bound in.... let's not go there. BUT, it makes you wanna go out there and work out. So I'm thinking of trying it out. Plus its 19 bucks a month! By New York standards, that's downright free. So if I get scammed or ripped off, I'll be sure to let you all know.

Let's just see if I can even get my ass in to the gym on a regular basis. Then we'll see if I can be one of those happy smiling beach people and not a beached whale.

Time Inc.'s Black Thursday

Ooooo. Yesterday was harsh. Time Inc. shaved off up to 250 (maybe more to come, who really knows) editorial & business staff from their magazines, People, Time, and Sports Illustrated. It's not looking good out there in the job market if you're looking to get into magazine publishing. Good Luck. On a happier note, I'm glad to report that I am still here. Congratulations to me. La Lohan is in rehab. She's 20 people. 20 years old. Meaning this girl has been drinking so much that BEFORE the age of 21, she first goes to AA and now, rehab.

I do hope for a quick recovery, because I mean the next big holiday is Valentines Day, and who WON'T drink to that?

Lily Allen to perform at Webster Hall

Ok, so I might just melt in my seat, but Lily Allen, according to the BrooklynVegan, is coming to NYC Feb 10th and playing at Webster Hall. As of now there isn't any ticket info, but OH BOY. You can count on the fact that I will be there (wherever there is) in line waiting for those tickets. No matter how cold, but oh wait, today is the first cold day all winter. It was 19 degrees when I looked at my Yahoo weather widget at 7:24am, and I was NOT very happy about that. I mean cooommme on, global warming, smobal warming. It's a myth! It's 19 degrees! (This is sarcasm, BTW.)

Back to Lily.

She's glorious, and after I see her my girl crush will grow and grow. Ooooh, and Feb 10th is my half birthday!! What a present Lil, what a present. :-)

Although, I'm a Penn Stater.

Last night The Gin Mill hosted the most raucous crowd of post U of Fl students I have ever seen, and they are the first I've seen. The crowd was literally vibrating. You could feel the energy pulsing through you, and even if you weren't a Gator fan you couldn't help but clap your hands Gator style "chomp chomp" or chant how great it is to be a Florida Gator.

I am by no means a fan of Ohio but a little piece of me did want a Big Ten team to win that national championship. After the first 15 seconds, I thought Ohio had the chance, but Florida responded with a open handed SLAP to the face.

The first quarter was too exciting for words. I really didn't think so much could happen in less than a half hour, but it did and if you lived between 81st and 82nd on Amsterdam you weren't going to sleep any time soon.

So for a night. I was a Gator fan. Although if Penn State didn't win against Tennessee in the Outback Bowl, I'm not sure I could stand them Gator boys.

*did I mention Chris Leak is GORGEOUS not to mention SMART??*

Behold, Joel Stein!

I saw Joel Stein today. Yes. Lispy Joel Stein. In the elevator of the Time/Life bldg.

It was quite odd to see Joel from such shows as I Love The 80's and I Love The 80's Strike Back whose commentary I thoroughly enjoyed. It's also odd to have someone who thinks so much of himself that he writes an entire op-ed piece in the LA Times on how he DOESN'T want to hear from you (readers). Well today he stood humbly in the elevator talking to an unidentified older male about something newsy (I'm sure).

His hair was tousled, he was wearing a black wool trench, dark olive looking khakis and carrying a typical briefcase/satchel and looking ever the journalist. I couldn't help but smile and smile I did, quite foolishly. I felt a bit awkward for the other woman in the elevator whom I was having a great convo (before J.S. appeared) for she was now looking at the numbers willing them to skip from 24 to 1 as fast as they possibly could.

He was a lil kind though. As the elevator rested at the ground floor he left myself and the other woman aboard out FIRST, holding the doors open, (how sweet) while he exited after us. I whispered my "Thank You" and smiled all the way to the lunch room.

If only ANYONE knew of Joel, then they would comment.

Back At It

So, I took a mini hiatus.

Unemployment.

It was oddly fun. I got to watch a lot of t.v., sleep so much it made me tired and got to see 4 more yankees games than I ever would (4 more than 0).

And believe me living on 100 dollars a month in New York City is a FEAT and I don't tempt anyone to try it.

Yet, for all those who care... I am back at it, working that is. I work for a ridiculously established empire which owns more than several magazines and other online things. I'm more than happy. Although I work in advertising/marketing I am determined to move over to the editorial side, no matter what it takes, since I am a Journalism major.

NYC is a place very hard to live on 100 bucks a month (about 25 dollars a week). Yea yea, TimeOut New York gives you plenty of ideas for places to go, eat, see music, and do free things all over Manhattan and the boroughs, but did they include THE SUBWAY!? If you aren't lucky enough to have a monthly pass the subway eats away at your measly 25 bucks a week, especially if you are interviewing at least 2 to 3 times a week. A great show on NYC TV called "Cool In Your Code" is pretty fantastic. For anyone new to the city or for one who doesn't like to leave "The Village", this show is one to catch. Each show showcases a different zipcode and tells you what is cool to do, although not always inexpensive, but it can introuduce you to great eateries and places you've never heard of. New York has got a lot of them.

Ahhh, well it's late and I have found myself sucked into a terrible infomercial.

Anyone have any other websites/shows they know of that have even better ideas of free or inexpensive things to do in the city, let me know or let everyone know and leave a post!

I promise this site will get better and I might decide to have a purpose. :-)

Hooray for Olympus Fashion Week Spring 2007! Lucky for me I have NYC TV on Time Warner cable and I've been quite addicted to the show Full Frontal Fashion.
