Arcade Fire is playing on my camera

So last night I was given the lucky option to attend a free LCD Soundsystem/Arcade Fire show. This being my first time to Randall's Island and I wasn't too impressed. As I got in line to the Stairway to port-a-potty heaven I looked out along the field and saw just how cruddy it was. No matter, S.Wan aka Swan got me free tickets to my first LCD SS and AF show, so I couldn't complain. Little did I know this would be Arcade Fire's last concert in NYC for two years!

The video I got during the show doesn't really compare to this video below that I captured right after the show, when Arcade Fire decided to have a surprise encore right next to the stage. They covered the Violent Femmes' "Kiss Off." Lucky for me the BrooklynVegan posted the vid and gave me credit. Later on I found out the video is posted on Stereogum. As of right now, it's the 7th most commented article on Stereogum. Yup. All I can say is I'm pumped. The days of me moonlighting as a video reporter have begun. ha.

Amen for my camera. I love that thing.

Ughhhhh... my eyes can't believe it. Rats?!? In the West Village? I thought those weren't allowed there. Only banned to Harlem or something. Fuzzy Concert Pics of Lily Allen

This past Saturday yours truly went to the MTV Discover & Download Lily Allen concert at Webster Hall in NYC. It was great, I was so close to her, I believe I even locked eyes with her once or twice. It was grand. Pictures are below. I have video of Lily singing, Naive, Littlest Things and half of Blank Expression, but I need to find a way to rotate them, and once I do, I will post those as well. Promise!

The pictures aren't as clear as I wanted them to be, but eh, at least I was there. She's soooooo adorable, her accent kills me!

Foxy Cleopatra!

Lucky for me I got to jump ship early at work today! So happily heading out 10 minutes before 5, I decide, what the hell, I'm gonna walk down to Bryant Park. It's only 8 blocks down. Those bright white tents made me shiver. The excitement, the clothes, and the PEOPLE, who would be sitting in those little white chairs. I could barely contain myself. So I parked myself on the top step on the side of the main entrance and just hope to see someone that I might know. Alot of "PR girls" are walking around headsets on, looking thier best in their hip clothing, and A LOT of cameramen doing their best to look... nonchalant. After 5 minutes I decide, I'm gonna get home, I've got a special night to prepare for.... and lo and behold.... Ms. Vivica A. Fox. A lot skinnier in person, bigger head than I expected, but just as beautiful, maybe even more. That celeb sighting have given me enough oomph to get up tomorrow morning, go to the gym, and park my ass on that same step again, this time armed with my camera. If I get a sighting I promise to post them. You know how I do!

It's Hump Day Bitches

Be proud y'all. I joined the gym and I didn't let them scam me. No I didn't. So I went in wanting to join for the advertised 19 dollars a month. They tried to roll me over with $150.00 sign up fees and all this and that, and I held firm at the $19 deal. Well what do you know. They get someone over to set me up and blimmey! They don't have the deal anymore. Now I'm all geeked and pumped to join the gym and get my booty on the elliptical and they literally burst my bubble. The manager did a bit of prodding (still, I hold firm) I said, no thanks to his membership rates and complained about just moving to the city and having a tiny flow of cashoola. Pshaw! I moved to the city 8 months ago (yet, my flow of money is tiny, teeeeeny tiny).

I finally got up to leave and he said, wait for it..... "How about 20.00 bucks to sign up, since that's all you have (he just HAD to slide that in there) and 43 bucks a month with the third year free?"

Now if you are savvy on the gym deals within the city, I believe mine is pretty rad. I have tri-state coverage and can go to any gym in the city. I believe that I have a great deal, especially knowing that some friends are paying 100 bucks just to run. Eesh.

Lily Allen to perform at Webster Hall

Ok, so I might just melt in my seat, but Lily Allen, according to the BrooklynVegan, is coming to NYC Feb 10th and playing at Webster Hall. As of now there isn't any ticket info, but OH BOY. You can count on the fact that I will be there (wherever there is) in line waiting for those tickets. No matter how cold, but oh wait, today is the first cold day all winter. It was 19 degrees when I looked at my Yahoo weather widget at 7:24am, and I was NOT very happy about that. I mean cooommme on, global warming, smobal warming. It's a myth! It's 19 degrees! (This is sarcasm, BTW.)

Back to Lily.

She's glorious, and after I see her my girl crush will grow and grow. Ooooh, and Feb 10th is my half birthday!! What a present Lil, what a present. :-)
